Flame Emission Spectroscopy
Flame Emission Spectroscopy (FES) is an analytical technique used to detect and quantify metal ions in a sample. It relies on the principle that when metal atoms are heated in a flame, their electrons become excited and jump to higher energy levels. As these excited electrons return to their ground state, they emit light at specific wavelengths.
