The Throckmorton and Babington Plots

The Throckmorton and Babington Plots

This course delves into two significant Catholic plots against Queen Elizabeth I: the Throckmorton and Babington plots. It explores their origins, key figures, and the methods used by Elizabeth's government, particularly Sir Francis Walsingham's spy network, to uncover and thwart these threats. Understanding these plots is crucial for grasping the challenges to Elizabethan rule and the measures taken to secure the Protestant succession.
