Translocation in Plants

Translocation in Plants
Translocation is the process by which soluble sugars, primarily sucrose, are transported from areas of production (sources) to areas of growth or storage (sinks) within a plant. This vital process ensures that all parts of the plant receive the necessary energy and building blocks for their metabolic activities. Without efficient translocation, plant growth, development, and survival would be severely compromised.
